Brooke Burgess – Owner, Manager and Head Trainer

Brooke Burgess:

At the age of twelve, Brooke fell in love with horses by volunteering at Horse ā€˜N’ Around Therapeutic Riding Center. She spent the first three years training under several Eventing, Hunter/Jumper, and Dressage trainers in Charlotte, NC. When she was fifteen, she acquired her first stall cleaning job at Jubilee Stables. Brooke became the best of friends with the owners, Becky and Carole Hart. After quite some time, the Harts saw a quickly developing relationship between Brooke and her future first horse, Pelear, a four-year-old Arabian rescue horse at the time. Shortly after, Brooke and Pelear began a career of a lifetime together. Pelear and Brooke had a partnership like no other competing up and down the east coast together in Eventing. Brooke began teaching lessons across the Charlotte area to over forty students for several years. Her ability to communicate and help students made her a desired trainer to many riders even at such a young age. At the age of eighteen, Brooke and Pelear packed up and moved to college at USC Aiken where they trained with Grand Prix dressage riders and upper-level event riders.

Brooke was the 2018-2019 President of the USC Aiken Eventing team. The team placed third out of twenty-three teams in the 2018 Intercollegiate Championship at the Virginia Horse Trials, where Brooke individually placed second out of twenty-two riders in her division. Brooke went to the 2019 American Eventing Championships where she placed 11th in her division with her horse Pelear.

In March 2021, Brooke completed her training and passed her Course Design Certification with the USEF and USEA.

Brooke Burgess is a USC Aiken graduate in Business Management. Since February 2018, she held the position of Events Coordinator and General Manager for The Vista Schooling and Event Center in Aiken, SC. In October 2021, Brooke began her own boarding and training facility at her personal farm (Beating Hart Equestrian) that she purchased the in Fall of 2020.

Brooke continues to train young horses and riders while also continuing to improve her riding with top-level trainers in the Aiken area with a focus on eventing and dressage.
